hi all,
i think it's important to know a bit about method before making any
assumptions as to the standing of visual v. interaction design in their
shop or if you'd pass on a job just because they mentioned a guy that you
may/may not know.
i had the pleasure of interviewing with those guys several years back, hi
chad!, and much to my dismay, didn't get the position. they are a group of
incredibly brilliant and forward-thinking folks, especially chad and ted,
who are a part of the id team. maybe going to the site and checking out
their work would be a good idea before commenting further?
i also happen to know that they all pretty much hail from meta, which was
started by erik spiekermann? anyone remember them? some of the best web
work i've seen. form and function. so that's why the emphasis on the
german/swiss school.
as for cooper... there isn't ANY cooperation, or didn't used to be, between
visual/interaction/technology. i was shocked to find that out when i took a
seminar from their team. method certainly doesn't work like that.
in addition, isn't a job description and wish list? if i were considering
applying with them, i would check out the url and recognize that i might
actually learn something. hard to find these days, smart people.
