(I mentioned it twice, in my recent prototype rants.) This is one of the key
reasons to decouple the prototype from development, because it's not solely
for the benefit of developers, its scope includes the owners, managers and
all other stakeholders. If you are doing anything but a trivial site,
usually you're impacting workflow and, ultimately, how the business is run.
What I've learned from real-world experience, though, is that wireframes or
paper prototypes do not really impact non-developers deeply enough to have
them foresee/imagine/feel/see how the product will change how they do
business. It's like the difference between Joe&Jill Layperson looking at a
blueprint vs. a 3D, fully-shaded walkthrough of their proposed wing addition
to their house.
