Expose. I like this word.

Nothing much mechanical in there. It's an 'all-at-once' kind of deal
unconcerned with 'parts' and not obsessed with the safety of allowing
nothing to happen in order to escape any problems.

For instance, I had a landlord once who had so many rules about the
apartment I was renting that basically you couldn't move a muscle
without breaking the lease. He had it down to a science. He claimed he
had run into problems before with various things and now he had it so
everything could work smoothly between the renter and himself. He used
this lease for all his tenets and experienced an unusually high
turn-over rate (??). Nevertheless, he never had a problem and lived
alone.

Yes, an open-hand contains infinitely more potential than a closed-fist,
yet, the closed-fist approach 'appears' much more sensible in quickly
getting-the-job-done.

I think you are quite right when you speak of difficulty and the idea of
labor (work) to achieve. It would be nice to have a pre-determined
system which takes care of everything for us, without having to lift a
finger, but that would just be a day dream. We would have to fool
ourselves into believing that could be true (short-term pleasure ~
denial) while ignoring the reality that we can't know the future and how
things, experientially, are going to happen.
