| By navigating in a concept space rather than in document space you
| could have experienced something closer to real findability.

| Ask Jeeves works in a concept space, by presenting many different
| concepts it thinks is appropriate, and applying your search
| terms. Does anyone use it? Any thoughts on how successful it is at
| directing your query?

I think Ask Jeeves's problem is that, like Google, it has to cover
*everything*, and it can't really be expected to do so. It's similar
to the problem of artificial intelligence. You can't actually create a
general artificial intelligence, but playing chess well or diagnosing
diseases on crops is within range.

| Personally, I almost never find its suggested concepts useful, but
| my searches probably aren't typical.

It seems to only work for very generic queries, but when it does work
for you it seems to do pretty well.
