Could it be that the so called "black and distorted" was actually a
communication gap?
Take the recent exchange as an example. When I read Derek's message:
http://www.info-arch.org/lists/sigia-l/0301/0274print.html
I thought his criticism on findability was extreme (you might call it
"black and distorted"). But I also felt that there might be something
about Derek's message that I had missed. Then as I read Daniel's
message:
http://www.info-arch.org/lists/sigia-l/0301/0296print.html
it dawned on me that Derek's criticism on findability was not that
extreme after all. I started to feel that I understood where Derek was
coming from and may even agree with him.
Thus, if people say to me they leave this group because their ideas
presented here had came out black and distorted, I would suggest that
they improve their communication skills to better explain their ideas.
Communicating ideas that other people already understood is easy.
Communicating ideas that other people haven't thought of is too often
a challenge to our own communication skills.
