[Sigia-l] RFI: Current Search Results UI Best Practices?

I've tried reviewing the archives, but it's not quite what I was looking
for.  I found info that dates back to 1999 but I'm not quite sure if they
hold true for a school website.  I have a search engine that will be
deployed to our general school pages and also office/department subsites. 
We're debating if the subsite navigation elements need to be on the search
results pages.  If you have any thoughts, examples, or link to best
practices that would be great.
