Absolutely wrong. The concept of 'beholder' is limited to the expressions
of 'Art'. Design (and usability) withing the context of 'usefullness' does
more than 'self expressions'. And fundamentally, product of 'design' are
different than product of 'art'. So, "usefulness is in the eye of the
beholder" is twisted.

That's just an opinion and nothing about the 'usefullness'. People goes to
sleep 'cos they use 'cruise control' too, however, every car that come out
tries to make it more and more 'usefull'.

But test of time is. And you may heard of the latest reasearch already
that people who spend time on internet (or computer) loose the habbit of
reading on other medium... and this reader stuff that we are talking about
is certaining usefull from that-point-of-view.
Never loose the context - 'cos that is important for 'design', not the
'beholeders'.
