[Sigia-l] Programming IAs was: Little things an IA MUST know/do

If IA's are expected to know how to program doesn't that mean programmers
should possess IA skills?

the best bet is to know and have a basic understanding of the various skills
needed and knowing who to go to for bringing all those aspects into creating
the best product.

having a basic understanding of what can and cannot be done from a technical
perspective has helped me tremendously. and i know the programmers I work
with appreciate my attention to potential technical impracticalities. in
turn i have been able to train them to be aware of IA and UX issues as they
code.

Good point, Dan.

I for one adamantly believe that IDs/IAs should NOT know how to
program, but should know enough about the language and platform that
they can speak "geek" when necessary.
