I have always wanted this functionality on Google and wondered why they 
never offered it. However, I recently was touring their Advanced Search 
tips pages and discovered that you can save a preference that will 
enable all search results to open in  new window when clicked. Don't 
know how long it has been there, but I just recently saw it, so I 
figured I would share.
