[Sigia-l] Information Types

Hi Christer

When using the Dublin Core element set, resource types are listed under
dc.type which means that searching for dc.type on google will find you
lots of commentary and type lists.

Generally I agree with your suggestion that different document types often
have diferent needs for presentation, and in some cases for resource
discovery as well. For instance the single most important feature I
looked for in the search engine for the SIGIA-L archives was the ability
to order results by date. The same requirement typically exists for news
archives.

That said, to the extent that it's workable to treat different resource
types in a consistent manner then that's a good thing in itself.
