Art Director

6 Month Contract

Dulles, Virginia

Description of Duties:
This position requires a team player that is a highly innovative 
"seasoned designer" with a wide range of creative and business experience.
This
individual has a history of thriving in a fast-paced environment while
producing cutting edge designs that will have a significant impact on 
the company. The art director needs to possess strong design /typography 
skills and be able to identify trends that will have an impact on the work 
unit.
The candidate for this position will be regarded as a high-level design
expert and possess in-depth knowledge of the online industry. The 
ability to communicate complex design information in a strategic context is
a 
must. The candidate will help coordinate and develop creative solutions
while 
working with the Director of Design to establish and maintain visual
integrity
across the brand. This leadership role requires strategic thinking and
creative development while providing a simple yet dynamic user 
experience.
This team player will serve as a member of the creative team and be 
able to meet tight deadlines and milestones. The candidate in this position 
will be asked to provide creative direction, mentoring, training and
technical
leadership to the other members of their team.


Skill and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Fine Arts Degree + 6-8 years directly related business 
Experience including creative project management, advertising/marketing and 
design.
Candidate will possess strong artistic and design sensibilities and a
thorough understanding of interface design leading to execution of 
clean, tight screen designs. Pro-active team player must have the ability to

work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment while maintaining 
high-quality work standards. Management in an agency environment is a plus. 

Cutting  edge portfolio with high-quality work is a must.Skills Desired: The
ability 
To take a leadership role and mentor Sr. Designers and Designers ensuring 
team members develop the skills to effectively perform and grow 
professionally. Subject matter expertise to constructively challenge current
practices 
or approaches that will help spur innovation and creativity. Possesses a
thorough understanding of interface design. Has extensive experience 
with a range of creative technologies.
