Why do you say that? You could go as far as making it 'modal' by
interjecting an intermediary selection page/dialog for them to click (before
hitting the Go button) on, say, radio buttons or check boxes that correspond
to 'filters'. This could be another page or a small 'dialog' window, etc. Or
you could use JavaScript (if you can) to detect what filter was selected
(next to the Go button) and, if none, then generate a reminder/confirmation
window.
