You forget that I'm in my "Tolerant Period". :-)

The funny thing is that I've designed and developed dozens of non-web apps
over the years and the *first* thing I do (privately) is to design the
splash screen. Until the splash screen is gelled in my mind, usually the
overall interface doesn't click. For one corporate app that had a huge init
stage, pulling data from three different DBs for various lists, the splash
screen had to be up for about a minute. So to amuse the user I actually got
the temperature outside from a web site and displayed it on the splash
screen with one of five different (cached) icons. Then people wanted
different stuff displayed (their own horoscopes, company stock price, etc)
and I could see that it could get out of hand.  :-)
