Actually, HR really is worth considering, especially for intranets.  HR
departments often provide information to an audience that cuts across
several or all departmental silos.  That's a good first step toward
developing a single information architecture for a large, multi-site
information environment.

You can't see many stellar examples of these because, well, as intranets,
they're behind firewalls.

I haven't read Gerry's article, but I'm hoping he's saying that
communication departments are good *candidates*, not the only ones who
should always take on this responsibility.

Everyone raise your right hand and repeat after me:  "It depends, it
depends, it depends..."
