Hi Katie,
At my previous company, we used NetRaker often on both complex and
non-complex sites with success. However, I was always a little
uncomfortable (leery?) with the idea that every Xth user who hit the site
got the survey, etc. I'm now in the process of working with Vividence to do
something similar, however their approach is a little different (if you're
unfamiliar) ... they keep a database of users who've agreed to use their
proprietary browser-integrated app which tracks behavior through a site
while still doing similar stuff to NetRaker - asking questions, having them
do tasks, etc. This way you have a little more control over the demographic
you want to test.
cheers,
jason

Subject: [Sigia-l] Automated Testing Tools
Hi -
I'm wondering if anyone has used and/or evaluated any of the automated
testing tools such as Netraker. I'm particularly interested in thoughts on
these types of tools work in conjunction with more traditional in-person
testing. For example, is there a tendency to do more of the automated and
less in-person? Other questions are: is it better for a less complex site
not too many levels of navigation? Is intercepting a user on a site the most
frequent way to recruit?
thanks -
