Apologies for the cross post :)
Can anyone point to resources/standards for international phone number
formats?  (both US and outside the US)  For example, if the standard format
for phone numbers in the U.S. is (XXX) XXX-XXXX, what is the comparable
format  for phone numbers in Canada, France or Bulgaria. 

I'll be happy to summarize answers for the list, if you wish to reply to me
