Amen. They did it in Director (and it's evil twin Shockwave) over a 
decade ago... why they don't put native toolbox calls in the Flash 
player has been a subject of debate for years now. The standard 
answer I get is player download size vs. that as a feature request. I 
find it hard to believe that people writing apps in Flash really dig 
making their own widgets...
