[Sigia-l] Fixed Font in User Interface Presentation Layer (Lucida)

Hi there:

I am currently working on a project that aims to create a visual "uplift" to
a legacy-type code implementation. For this reason, the display of the front
end user interface is forced to fixed/monospace fonts only. Lucida Sans
Typewriter was chosen as the lead contender.

My company has contacted Adobe to license their font, Lucida Sans
Typewriter, and has run into an unusual snag: we are planning on displaying
the font on screen, but we also have to download the font to the user's
local font file. Our users are strictly institutional users, and all use
PC's for their daily work activities. Apparently this type of usage case
does not fit into any of the "traditional" licensing templates.

Is anyone out there aware of similar font licensing issues, in particular
aware of interfaces that use a fixed font (post-script or otherwise, Lucida
Typewriter in particular), in the presentation layer & drop it into Windows
file as a font selection?

Your thoughts and replies are greatly appreciated, thank you,
Adriana
