Directions Regarding the Shedd Aquarium:

ADDRESS
John G. Shedd Aquarium
1200 S. Lake Shore Drive . Chicago, IL 60605

HOW TO GET IN:
Because the aquarium is closed after 5:00 p.m. on the 29th, you will
need to go around the building to the north Education Entrance. As
you look at the main entrance -- big stairs, big columns, not man
with fish fountain -- take the little path that continues around the
building to your left. There is a glass door; that's the entrance.
I will leave a sign on the door with what to do if you arrive early
or late. (Essentially, knock or call my cell phone if you have a
phone.)

ELECTRONIC PRESENTATION NOTE:
I'll go ahead and set up an overhead in the room. If you have
documents you'd like to project, you can. If you e-mail me ahead of
time, we can also hook up a laptop to show any docs on the Internet,
to show electronic docs you send (provided I have the software), or
to hook up your laptop.

PARKING:
As you may know, parking on Museum Campus has changed a bit since
construction has started on Soldier Field. Your best bet if you have
to drive is to bring quarters and park at the meters along Solidarity
Drive (the road that goes through Museum Campus -- past Field, Shedd
and Adler). They should be fairly open by 6. Every quarter gets you
30 minutes. Police do ticket on a very frequent basis, so be sure to
feed the meter.

CABS: A cab from the loop will run you about $6-12 dollars.
Example: State and Jackson, $6.

CTA:
The #146 and the #12 CTA buses are the most frequent to drive through
Campus. They both run late, though the #12 is generally more
frequent past 6:30.

#146 is easy to access from most El lines in the loop as it runs
along State Street. Note that if you're coming from north of the
river, it runs along Michigan. Easy connections: Jackson on the Red
line; Library/State-VanBuren on the Brown, Purple and Orange lines.
Note: Some of the south-bound #146 stop at Harrison and do not
continue all the way to the museums. Every other bus should go to
Museum Campus/Adler Planetarium.

#12 runs east/west on Roosevelt to/from Museum Campus. There is an
El connection at the Roosevelt stop on the Red, Orange and Green
lines.

FOOD: If there is interest, we can order food in. Or feel free to
bring food along.

Don't hesitate to call or e-mail (see contact information below) if
you have any questions!
