When I worked at a fast food place years ago, in Falls Church, Virginia
(ten miles outside DC), a "Coke" meant Coca-Cola. However, when I was on
loan to another location of the same fast food place only two or three
miles away in a neighborhood with a different demographic, a "Coke"
always meant a root beer.
