[Sigia-l] Automatic classification/tagging software

We are currently in the process of evaluating automatic classification products from vendors such as TopicalNet, Textology, ClearForrest, LingMotors, etc. We want to be able to automatically tag journal and news articles (in XML) with topics from our predefined taxonomies as well as with entities such as companies, persons, organizations. Does anyone out there have experience with these types of products? If so, any advise will be greatly appreciated.
