Hi everyone,

My name is Dr. Frank Exner, Little Bear. I am a
Squamish Indian associated with North Carolina Central
University School of Library and Information Sciences.
I would like to propose two panels for the 2006
ASIS&T Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas.

First would be a panel about "Native American
Classifications". Particularly I want to present on
the Brian Deer Classification at the Xwi7xwa Library
(First Nations House of Learning) at the University of
British Columbia <www.library.bc.ca/Xwi7xwa>. (I can
easily see this in a panel about "real work on real
classifications".)

Second would be a panel about about the classification
of imaginative literature (fiction). There were
presentations made by Dr. Erickson and Dr. Nielsen at
the 2005 SIG/CR Workshop defining the problem. My
presentation would examine the classification system
used by NoveList as one possible solution. This panel
is also about "real work on real classifications".

To formally propose them to ASIS&T, each panel needs
two or three volunteers. Please email me at
<fexner at yahoo.com> with your name and a suggested
subject. It would be ideal if you could include a
shot bio and rough abstract to help me write the
submission.

Thank you very much for considering these panels.

Sincerely,

Bears, Books, and Peace,
Dr. Frank Exner, Little Bear
