Hello:
It is time to choose your new officers for SIG/CR. The open positions are:
- Chair-elect, to serve as chair in 2004
- Secretary/Treasurer for 2003
- Communications Officer for 2003.
The following people are nominated:
*CHAIR-ELECT*
MIKEL BREITENSTEIN
My academic background includes degrees in art, computer science, and LIS.
Before moving to California last year, I was an Assistant Professor and
Undergraduate Program Director in the Palmer School of LIS at Long Island
University. My teaching specialties are knowledge organization and
presentation, and visual literacy. Prior to teaching at LIU, I was a
telephone engineer, software developer and analyst, information designer,
archivist and librarian. This past year I have been writing my doctoral
dissertation (on Visual Literacy) and helping to set up Breitenstein Medical
Associates, a medical-legal consulting business. I have been active in ASIST
as an event organizer, workshop attendee, panel speaker and moderator.
Recently I was SIG-HFIS Chair. I am looking forward to working with other CR
members to continue the high intellectual standards for which CR programs
and workshops are known.
