Hello all SIG Leaders:
Please note that we should all be working to move all content from asis.org to asist.org and should be branding the SIG sites to meet standards set by ASIS&T. Please take a few minutes to review your SIG's info on asist.org and let us know what needs updating.
There is a terrible amount of confusion for some due to the fact the legacy site is still up (it will, hopefully, be going away in the next six months). Some members and leaders alike have noticed the asis.org site is not updated. It will not be updated as we are trying to move everyone to the new domain. Please ensure you are sharing the asist.org address when pointing people to your SIG and the organization.
Also, as my job is to ensure we (the SIGs) are all reaching current members as well as drawing in new members, I would like you all to share with the us your plans for the coming year to draw in new members, this includes academics as well as practitioners . My definition of a practitioner is someone not in academia conducting research. (Feel free to share your definition with us so we can get new perspectives!)
ASIS&T used to be a place for practitioners to come together and share information, best practices, and review research with academics and we have, somewhere along our way, lost a majority of that population. Please give some thought as to how we can include this population once again in not only our membership, but also make them feel more welcome and appreciated at the Annual Meeting.
If you need anything from the us, please let us know how we can best support your efforts!
Thank you and have a great week!
Regards,
Brandi Loveday-Chesley, MIS
ASIS&T SIG Cabinet Director
