Greetings to all SIG Officers,

My name is Brandi Loveday-Chesley and I am your SIG Cabinet Director for 2017-2018. Joining me as SIG Cabinet Deputy Director is Sarah Buchanan. You will be hearing from us periodically requesting reports of various kinds and checking into to see how your year is progressing. We will also try to set up a Skype or Zoom-style meeting between the SIGs' Cabinet Representatives (usually the SIG Chair, unless otherwise appointed by the SIG) and ourselves after the Holiday season.

If you have not already done so, please submit your list of officers for 2017-2018 to BLOVEDAY at ALBANY.EDU and BUCHANANS at MISSOURI.EDU in an excel spreadsheet format.

If you respond to this email with an attachment it, it will not be received. Hence the personal emails above.

Please use the name of your SIG, the year range, and submission type in the subject line for reports and list submissions:

Example: SIG IEP 2017-2018 Officer List

The SIG Officers Manual can be found here for now: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1zn72n6gajf5qy1/2017%20SIG%20Officers%20Manual.docx?dl=0

This manual has information on duties of officers, reporting requirements of SIGs, and general financial information for SIGs. It does need updating due to the change of the fiscal year and some award dates, but is generally sound. If you have issues accessing this location, email me directly and I will forward an attachment.

I would like to urge you all to work on collaborating with other SIGs on programs for next year's AM in Vancouver as well as webinars, JASIST submissions, and Inside ASIST submissions. The theme for AM 2018, if you saw the flyer in your bags, involves sustainability and diversity. This organization's sustainability and diversity depends on all of us working together and with outside parties to remain successful. Find practitioners outside of your comfort zone and collaborate with them as well as other information science and technology researchers and academics. We must continue the course of drawing in new members from ALL aspects of information science and technology to influence the various fields under our umbrella. Seek out and explore new partnerships to diversify your thought processes and multiply your success!

If you have any questions after reviewing the manual, please let us know. We will do our best to get answers to all your questions and ensure a successful year ahead for all!

Thank you for your time and for being leaders in ASIS&T.

Regards,
Brandi Loveday-Chesley, MIS
ASIS&T SIG Cabinet Director
