[Sig-l] Proposed Changes in SIG Funding Structure

For a number of years there has been discussion as to whether the current SIG funding structure is the best of serve the needs of the SIGs. At last year's SIG Cabinet meeting the SIG Cabinet Steering Committee was charged with developing a plan to present to the SIG Cabinet this year.

After much discussion, the attached proposal was developed. It will be presented and discussed at the SIG Cabinet meeting in Vancouver, but we welcome, nay, encourage, comments and suggestions from those who will not able to attend or those who will be attending but wish to provide us with earlier access to their counsel.
