Sunshine Week 2009 Webcast

"Opening Doors: Finding the Keys to Open Government" is the topic of the
4th annual Sunshine Week National Dialogue sponsored by
OpentheGovernment.org. The Minnesota Coalition on Government Information
and the League of Women Voters Minneapolis will co-host a local
participation site on Friday, March 20, Noon-2:00 p.m. at Hennepin
County Library-Central (formerly Mpls Central Library), 300 Nicollet
Mall in downtown Minneapolis.

A panel of experts from around the country will kick off a lively
discussion from Washington, DC about open government and secrecy - the
problems, the impact on communities, and what the public can do.
The event will feature two panels: one consisting of Congressional and
Administration policy-makers who will discuss how the government and the
public can make the federal government more open and one consisting of
individuals with expertise in making government information available in
a useful format online.

The 90-minute webcast will be followed by a participant discussion
focused on local response and Minnesota issues at the Hennepin County
Library - Central site. The webcast is free and open to the public.
Participants are encouraged to Bring Your Own Lunch – beverages
available. Check the MnCOGI website for more information, or email
mtreacy at onvoymail.com.

Minitex will also be sponsoring a site to view the webcast on the
University of Minnesota campus:
