Barbara Ronningen from the Minnesota State Demographer's Office will cover
the use and assessment of the historic new tool, American Community Survey.
Data from the ACS will give communities the information they need to track
annually how they are changing on a range of social, economic, housing and
demographic issues. It will replace the long form in future censuses and is
a critical element in the Census Bureau's re-engineered 2010 census. The
Workshop will cover: American FactFinder, ACS data profiles, multi-year
profiles, selected population profiles, ranking tables, etc. (It's helpful
if attendees have some familiarity with Census data, American FactFinder
and basic statistics).
