Hi folks!

Just sending a reminder. Please let me know if you think you might
attend.

Also I wanted to mention that we will not be having a speaker in
December but are hoping to have someone very neat in January. (We just
need to confirm and I'll let you know more as soon as I can.)

Thanks a million! Ann

"And Now for Something Completely Different" brain food sampler series
from ASIS&T Tuesday November 15th 5:00-6:30
Two Too Cool Online Tools for Retail Demographics and B2B Targeting by
Denise Cumming

Sorry for the late notice and change of regular time. We wanted to avoid
having a program on Election Day. I am delighted to report that Denise
Cumming will be coming on November 15 to talk about two cool tools: ESRI
(http://www.esribis.com/) and ZapData.com (http://www.zapdata.com/).
These are two tools that give great info related to zip code
demographics and are useful, accessible, and affordable to small
businesses.

Denise has worked with small businesses at Teltech, Minnesota Technology
Inc, and as a freelancer for many years. She is a master online searcher
and is going to be working on a case study of these tools for the ASIST
talk. (Given the nature of the talk I may invite some business owners to
join us - and of course you're welcome to do that too.)

Please note the venue is the College of St. Catherine, Centers for
Excellence, 2nd floor of the Coeur de Catherine.

The entrance to the parking lot is off Fairview Ave just beyond
Randolph. (Parking should be pretty good as the meeting is scheduled
between day and evening classes.)

The goal of our speaker series is to showcase different
information-related jobs and topics. The target audience is twofold:
folks who are scoping out potential careers and folks who want to stay
up on things in case someone at work asks and/or they are expected to
become (or know) an expert in a given area.

The format is informal, roundtable discussion. We will ask each speaker
to spend 30 minutes. Then we'll open it up for questions from
attendees.

Here are the details:

Date & Time: 5:00 - 6:30 Tuesday November 15th (speaker starts at 5:30)

Place: Centers of Excellence, 2nd Floor of the Coeur de Catherine.

RSVP: please send us a note if you will be coming
atreacy at treacyinfo.com. It is not necessary, but really helps us have
enough snacks. Students you are welcome to come before your classes or
during a break - if you plan to snack with us please RSVP.

Cost: None - in fact ASIS&T brings the snacks.

Please feel free to forward this email!!
