[Chapters-l] ASIS&T MEMALERTs with declining info value -- how are the rest of you managing?

    I talked to Carolyn about this sometime in the past, and the problem may
be less straightforward than it appears on the surface. My recollection was
that at least at the time of the software switchover, there was a problem
outputting more than a certain number of fields. I was particularly
concerned about the lack of SIG info because this makes it impossible to
send SIG memalerts as well as let chapter officers know about the interests
of their members.

    If the situation has changed, or new knowledge of the software allows
more information to be taken out, adding upgrading the memalerts will be no
problem. I can work with a variety of file formats, so that if it is
possible to print a file that contains the desired information, I should be
able to generate memalerts that go to the right people.
