Discussed ways of making standards committee work more visible to the general membership
Decided to see what ASIST does with its upcoming membership visibility system before deciding whether to use it or come up with some other mechanism like a mailing list ASIST members who were interested in standards could subscribe to and posting recent activities to that list
Action items
1) prepare handout on recent standards activities to be distributed at registration desk at ASIST 2018 - Needleman
2) Organize virtual meeting of committee for January 2018. Decide based on interest at first meeting whether to hold future virtual meetings - Needleman
3) Look into free virtual conferencing software - Thornburg
4) Try to recruit new members who will be active participants- All
5) Weed inactive members from committee - Needleman, Dickey
Action items from standards panel session
1) send presentations to Needleman for putting up on standards web page - Zeng
2) Create web page for presentations from conference panel session linked to from standards web page - Needleman
