Folks
i just cast the following votes (Tim i made one of your comments a little less strident - hope you don’t mind)
Mark
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
APPROVE for Publication ISO/FDIS 15489-1 (Ed 2) Information and documentation -- Records management -- Part 1: Concepts and principles - with the following comment:
To the ASIST standards committee member who reviewed this the metadata section seemed minimal and not of much use
Comment provided by Timothy Dickey
YES on Periodic Review: ANSI/NISO/ISO 12083-1995 (R2009), Electronic Manuscript Preparation and Markup - withdrawal of NISO version of the ISO standard
Note: This does not mean NISO is abandoning SGML - NISO sometimes withdraws its version of ISO standards in order to avoid having to maintain the NISO standard in the event of changes to the equivalent ISO standard in order to keep the two standards in sync
Voted APPROVE for publication ISO/DIS 17068-Information and documentation - Trusted third party repository for digital records - with the following comment:
The ASIST standards committee member who reviewed the document noted that the provisions in 6.7 and 7.4 for security operations on the part of such a third-party service seem extremely minimal, considering the broad scope of the business and healthcare applications envisioned in the introduction
