Folks

there is one more ISO vote coming up in May:

Approval of ISO DTS 18344, Effectiveness of paper deacidification processes

This is a ballot for the TC46/SC10 draft technical specification, ISO DTS 18344, Effectiveness of paper deacidification processes.

This International Technical Specification specifies test methods and minimum requirements for paper deacidification processes regarding their effectiveness and consistency. It is applicable for all large scale processes which offer deacidification of acid documents made of printed or hand-written paper.

This document is being issued in the Technical Specification series of publications as a "prospective standard for provisional application" in the field of paper deacidification because there is an urgent need for guidance on how standards in this field should be used to meet an identified need. This document is not to be regarded as an "International Standard". A review of this Technical Specification will be carried out not later than 3 years after its publication with the options of: extension for another 3 years; conversion into an International Standard; or withdrawal.

Your voting options are:
Affirmative - approve for publication (comments are optional and should be editorial in nature)
Negative - do not approve for publication (comments are required and should be substantive in nature)
Abstain from voting (comments optional)

I have attached a copy of the draft to this message - Ineed comments and a recommendation for a vote by May 21 ( I don't think this is going to generate a lot of controversy - but I could be wrong)

mark
