FACULTY POSITION. CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF AMERICA Intelligence Analysis or Data Visualization and Analysis: Visiting Assistant Professor 

The School of Library and Information Science (SLIS) of The Catholic University of America invites applications for a visiting professor position that will begin in fall 2012. We seek an energetic individual with expertise in Intelligence Analysis or Data Visualization and Analysis to enrich our curriculum and expand program offerings. 

An earned doctoral degree in library and information science (LIS) or a closely related field is highly desirable. Applicants with a master's degree in intelligence analysis or a highly related area plus substantial field experience will be considered. Applicants should have substantial professional or research experience in their areas of specialization and know the trends in their areas well. Demonstrated teaching abilities are critical, and the ability to teach in blended format is highly desirable. Grant experience is helpful, and the ability to attract grants is highly desirable. The ability to teach one or more of the core courses at SLIS is helpful.

The finalist will contribute to curriculum development and teaching at SLIS, and develop new program initiatives. The school offers courses in Washington, DC and Virginia. The teaching load is five courses per academic year and can be reduced by assuming substantial administrative responsibilities. Summer teaching is optional.
