[Asis-l] textbook: Information: A Fundamental Construct - open web access

The draft textbook "Information: A Fundamental Construct" is now available
at:
http://www.ischool.drexel.edu/faculty/ballen/ISS/

This is a broad overview of information science and systems which includes
topics such as HCI, repositories, preservation, text retrieval, natural
language, simulation, and multimedia.

The book is currently in use by two courses. One of these is an 200-level
undergradute Information Science overview and the other is the first course
in a masters program.  Study questions and powerpoint files for teaching
accompany each chapter.

Please note that the book and PPTs are in draft form and are somewhat rough
in several areas.  Comments, corrections, and questions are welcome.
