Typical 20-year-olds in post-World War II America grew up with radio as
an established medium, witnessed the growing ubiquity of television,
communicated with friends by rotary phone, and used libraries as their
primary information retrieval systems.
Typical 20-year-olds in modern America grew up with television as a
long-established medium, witnessed the growing ubiquity of the
Internet, communicate with friends through a variety of
telecommunications technologies, and use a variety of information
retrieval systems whose origins go back the post-World War II era.
Along with social and historical contexts, technology affects the
workplace and recreational expectations of different generations. Join
us as Jason Neal explores how these factors have influenced the
attitudes (and our perceptions) of four generations: Silents, Boomers,
Xers, and Millennials.
