The Library Quarterly, the premier journal of informed research in all areas
of librarianship, is pleased to announce an expanded reviews section. While
continuing to review print monographs and reference books, the new reviews
section will also include coverage of websites, databases, and exhibits.
The broadened scope of the reviews section requires more reviewers who have
expertise in relevant areas.

To enable this expansion of the Reviews Section, The Library Quarterly is
extremely pleased to welcome the Association of College and Research
Libraries Library & Information Science Collections Discussion Group as full
partners. The Group will assume responsibility for:

.	Identifying items in all media for possible review;
.	Soliciting reviewers from faculty, peers, and doctoral students
within their LIS programs and across their campuses; and
.	Communicating with LQ editorial offices to insure the smooth
transition of edited reviewing copy for subsequent publication in LQ.

Sue Searing, head of the Library and Information Science Library at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and ACRL LIS Collections
Discussion Group Chair, will coordinate the effort with ACRL LISCDG
librarians. Linda Most, doctoral student at Florida State University's
College of Information, will serve as Staff Coordinator of the Reviews
Section.

LQ readers are encouraged to suggest new review opportunities to the ACRL
LISCDG librarians, LQ editors, or the LQ Staff Coordinator for
consideration. Please feel free to e-mail suggestions and questions
directly to Linda Most at lrm04c at fsu.edu. Additional information on how to
participate in the reviews process can be found on the LQ website,
http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/LQ/home.html. We hope all involved in the
reviews process -- readers, committee members, staff members, and reviewers
-- will be alert to potential items for review and will volunteer to write
reviews as well.
