St. John's University, Division of Library and Information Science

The Division of Library and Information Science at St. John's University
invites applications for a tenure-track appointment that begins in the
fall of 2007.  

Teaching and research interests should focus on special libraries,
knowledge management, and competitive intelligence.  The candidate
should demonstrate potential for effective teaching and scholarly
research and publication, particularly about state-of-the-art
information services in information-intensive organizations, such as law
firms, financial firms, news agencies, marketing firms, medical centers,
government agencies, museums, and nongovernmental organizations.
Additional responsibilities include student advisement and university
committee service. 

Faculty positions are for nine months with opportunities for summer
teaching.  Salaries and benefits are competitive and are commensurate
with qualifications.  

A PhD or other terminal degree in a relevant field is required.  Highly
qualified candidates nearing completion of the dissertation will receive
serious consideration.  Candidates should hold a master's degree in
library and information science from an ALA-accredited program.  

Review of credentials will begin immediately and will continue until the
