Two Faculty Openings at Long Island University 

The Palmer School of Library and Information Science is searching for two tenure track faculty members to join an exciting team at Long Island University (LIU). The positions are open immediately and that we wish to fill this as soon as possible, but we will continue interviewing until appropriate candidates are found. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in one of the two areas:

* Knowledge Organization 
* School Media

The person selected to fill this position will be expected to be energized 
by a collegial and creative environment and will thrive on initiating and 
contributing to maintaining a student centered environment. Excellence in 
the classroom is a must. So is an appreciation of the interdisciplinary 
nature of the field of information studies and the ability to integrate 
theory and practice. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or other doctorate) 
completed or near completion in a relevant field of study. 

The Palmer School offers its master's degree program at the C.W. Post Campus 
(22 miles east of New York City) and at NYU's Bobst Library in New York 
City. Selected M.S. courses are also offered at the Brentwood Campus and in 
Westchester County, 30 miles north of New York City. The Ph.D. program is 
offered only at the C.W. Post Campus. 

Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualification. Long 
Island University has an outstanding fringe benefit package, including 
tuition remission for employee and dependents. The Palmer School is part of 
the College of Information and Computer Science. Detailed information about
