Dear Colleagues,

Today, 14th November 2005, is the last day to register at the "early bird"
rate for the DASER II Summit meeting at the University of Maryland,
College Park, MD. This Digital Archives for Science & Engineering
Resources (DASER) conference, scheduled for 2-4 December 2005, has over a
dozen presenters, who will speak to issues surrounding digital libraries
(DLs), institutional repositories (IRs) and Open Access (OA), from the
publisher, librarian, and scholarly viewpoint. Special "Breakout
Sessions" after each set of presentations allow the registrants to meet
with the speakers on an informal basis and to interact and network with
colleagues.

The topics of this conference are relevant to all
Science-Technology-Medicine (STM) librarians, as well as STM publishers
and researchers. Rarely are all sides - librarians, publishers and
scholars-- presenting at the same conference, addressing topics of mutual
concern. This second DASER Summit meeting follows up on the success of
DASER I at MIT (Cambridge, MA) in November 2003.

This conference is sponsored by the American Society for Information
Science & Technology (ASIST) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA).
The registration fee includes dinner on Friday evening and Saturday's
lunch.

For more information, please go to www.daser.org, or email me directly.
So register today and save money using the "early bird" rates.

Sincerely,

Michael Leach
President, ASIST
Program Chair, DASER II
