[Asis-l] Final call for I-ASIS&T Spring Program: The Millennial Generation

Colleagues:

The restaurant chose for us a slightly larger room than our group's
size, so we can allow a handful more registrations if there is anyone
who is interested in joining us at the last minute for our program this
Thursday evening! Please send me an email if you plan to do this so that
I can keep track of the numbers to ensure there is room! Bring your
checkbook; we cannot take credit card payments at the event and online
registration is closed.

Technology (I-ASIS&T) invites you to the following program:

"Understanding, Motivating, and Successfully Working with the Millennial
Generation"

Buca di Beppo, downtown Indianapolis

Please join us as we connect with colleagues at Buca di Beppo Restaurant
to share immigrant southern Italian cooking served family-style and
learn how to work with people of different ages!

Our guest speakers will be Megan Palmer, Ph.D., Instructional Design
Specialist at the IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning and Terri A.
Tarr, Ph.D., Director, Instructional Design and Development, IUPUI
Center for Teaching and Learning.  


*** Program Abstract ***
For the youngest members of the workforce (people born starting in
1980), the Energizer bunny has always been going, and going, and going
and politicians have always used rock music for theme songs. The
millennial generation is hitting the workplace with experiences and
expectations different than those of earlier generations. During this
session, participants will discuss generational differences, what
motivates millennials, and tips for effectively working with the next
generation.

*** PARKING *** 
Buca di Beppo is attached to the Circle Block Garage which usually
charges $3/hour. The entrance to the garage is on Illinois Street next
to the restaurant. Alternatively, the Circle Center Mall Parking Garage
(with multiple entrances throughout downtown Indianapolis) usually
charges $1 for three hours. 


*** DIRECTIONS *** 
FROM THE NORTH: I-465 east to I-70W toward Indy. Take Ohio St. Exit.
Turn left on East St. Right on Washington. Right on Illinois.

FROM THE SOUTH: Take 31 North (Meridian St.) When you hit Washington
take a left and then a right onto Illinois. We are on the right hand
side of the street.

FROM THE EAST: Take I-70 towards Indy. Take the Ohio St Exit. Turn left
on East St. Turn right on Washington. Turn right on Illinois.

FROM THE WEST: Take Washington East. Turn left on Illinois.
