Assistant Director for Finance and Administration
Reporting to the Vice Provost and Director of Libraries, and as a member
of the senior administrative team, the incumbent will marshal resources
to advance the Libraries agenda. S/He will provide leadership for the
Libraries finance and business, contract management, space planning,
and facilities operations, and will coordinate grant-seeking, planning,
and external relations (19 staff). While ensuring strategic use of funds
in accordance with state and university requirements, he or she
continuously will improve management information to enable
organizational agility. S/He will represent the Libraries, participate
in university-wide initiatives, and work closely with campus
administrators in areas of assigned responsibility. Current initiatives
include a multi-million dollar renovation of the main library and
planning for a new library on the Universitys Centennial Campus.
The successful candidate will have proven administrative experience,
including planning, and financial and facilities management. S/He will
have knowledge of developments in higher education, scholarly processes,
and issues facing academic research libraries. Demonstrated leadership
ability, analytical skills, creative and innovative problem-solving, and
a strong commitment to service excellence are expected, with some public
relations experience preferred. Outstanding written and oral
communications and interpersonal skills, superior organizational
ability, and an entrepreneurial spirit are essential. An advanced
degree in a relevant discipline is required; an ALA-accredited Master of
Library Science is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The salary is competitive, in recognition of applicable education and
experience, not less than $90,000 for this position. Librarians have
non-tenure track faculty status (without levels of rank). Benefits
include: Health insurance (comprehensive major medical); State, TIAA/
CREF or other retirement options. 24 vacation days. Relocation
allowance.
