Knowledge Management in the 21st Century:
Moving Forward, Sustaining the Momentum
Kick-off Reception: Friday evening, November 15
Summit: Saturday, November 16
The ASIST 2002 Knowledge Management Summit views KM from the perspective of
mature reality rather than a promising blip on the "good idea" radar
screen. We will look at KM in today's organization and determine where it
stands - as an urgent flashpoint, or possibly integrated into the fabric of
the organization as a given. Is it in "stealth mode" - alive but given a
different name, renamed for the 21st century? The summit will report on the
current KM buzz.
Join us and DO KM with KM colleagues. The 2002 KM Summit will be your
opportunity to exchange best practices with those who have been there for
years and have exciting news to share. We'll explore KM roles within
organizations such as Bain and the World Bank, the state-of-the-art in
collaboration research and technology (Patti Anklam will discuss social
network analysis and Diane Sonnenwald shares her research on
collaboratories), the tools that KM practitioners are using (guided by
Joseph Busch), and what's the next generation in KM with Neena Buck from
Common Knowledge Cambridge, Michael Zack from Northeastern University's
Knowledge Management program, and Claire McInerney from Rutgers. And in the
spirit of really doing KM, Stan Ward will be helping us facilitate the
knowledge sharing throughout the Summit.
