Recalling the spirit of the very first SIG/CON session (i.e., "pulled
together too late for inclusion in the printed program" - see Ref. 1), this
year's theme is "Just-in-Time Research." The session will open with a
review of just-in-time research, especially as it applies to information
science and technology, and with the latest references added as the session
unfolds (i.e., in real time). Submissions for this session will be judged
based on their relevance to the theme, of course, but special preference
will be given to those who submit a plan showing that they will be
gathering their data during the 2002 Meeting itself.

Potential participants may send in proposals for, or abstracts of, papers
to be delivered the evening of Tuesday, November 19; however, in keeping
with the theme, volunteers from the audience may also be invited to the
podium to give just-in-time presentations.

Should you wish to have a submission considered for this program, please
forward it to: hatkins at stanford.edu. Submissions will be considered up to
and including the date of the session. The schedule of speakers will be
posted as the session commences (be prepared).

Presenters shouldn't expect any AV support - unless we can get that pulled
together at the last minute, of course. (Just kidding - there will be an
LCD projector available, but no live Internet connection.)

For the HAH team,

Helen Atkins
