Do patrons frequently ask you how to look up information on the Internet
about health issues? Do you have difficulty sorting through all the Internet
health materials available in search of credible information? Then this
workshop is for you! This workshop will review outstanding health reference
and research Internet sites for librarians and public health professionals.
Participants will receive a lecture, demos of web sites with suggested
search tips, and examples of how to answer health reference questions.
Participants will also have the opportunity to apply newly learned material
with hands-on exercises.

Participants attending will:
-Learn how to identify key health Internet sites to assist public health
professionals with pertinent health information
-Learn how to answer important health reference and research questions in
the field of public health
-Become familiar with information provided on the Ohio Department of
Health's web site
-Learn how to find and utilize the "Ohio Public Health / and Health
Promotion Library's" web site
-Learn how to answer practice health reference questions using sites
demonstrated during the class
-Participate in exercises that will enhance the learner's ability to search
the Internet more effectively
