[Sigmet-officers] Dick – please clarify

Dear All:
Unfortunately, I do not think any sanctions can be taken against Gretchen,
as she is the creator/moderator/etc. of this listserv. While she has kept
this listserv alive for a long time, and should be thanked for this
service, I do not think it is wise for us to continue to place this
valuable communication vehicle in the hands of someone who would so quickly
"kill" it. This level of volatility is dangerous to have with something
that is associated with our professional association. I agree that this
needs to be handled with delicacy and I think Judit's suggestions are
certainly reasonable. However, I would vote for an end result of
transferring the listserv to ASIS&T, to be maintained on the ASIS&T
servers. We can try to make this transition as seamless as possible,
although we will definitely lose some members of the listserv in the
transfer.
