Calling all UI Designers!
My client is a market-leading publisher who is renowned for publishing
listing guides, travel guides, and eating/drinking guides for cities all
over the world.
The company traditionally circulated magazines that contain information
about events, films, theatre, fashion, literature and all other artistic
events. The company has won international acclaim for reaching audiences
through focusing on more hip happenings and for its radicalism.
Recently 50% of the company had been bought out by new investors. The
business strategy is now focused toward growth and expanding into more
international markets. This is an excellent time to join the company since
there is an evolution taking place. As the social, political and cultural
landscape changes; my client is in the best position to adapt its products
to a rapidly changing and new international market.
Through Visual design, they are looking for a Digital UI Designer to create
beautiful and highly use-able products that satisfy the needs of their users
and commercial partners on a global scale across web and mobile platforms.
The company has an established User Experience Design team. The team is made
up of 4. You will take on a variety of projects from innovative commercial
micro-sites, to layout, buttons and icons, styling and typography for a new
wave of exciting digital products.
Responsibilities include:

range of digital products, both live and in development.
· Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to ensure
designs are beautiful, useable and work within the development and IA
frameworks.
· Create stunning visual work for business partners for advertising
and brand integrations (microsites, page take-overs, occasional banners and
MPUs).
· Contribute to a constant flow of ideas for improving and adding to
the creative flair of the User Experience on the digital products.
· Adhere to, and contribute to, an on-going brand identity guide and
web-design framework that can be communicated to licenses across the globe.
· Generate ideas and designs for online marketing media, such as:
social networking widgets and third party applications.
Knowledge & Skills:
· You must have three years experience working on digital products.
· Be an advocate of the web and an avid user of new applications on
mobile and web.
· Be an expert in a range of creative applications, particularly
Photoshop and Illustrator.
· Be able to sketch ideas on the fly, contributing to a rapid
creative process.
· Have a working knowledge of Flash, HTML and CSS.
· Have a deep understanding of web technologies.
· Be able to work in multi-disciplinary teams (understand developers
language).
· Be passionate about placing the user at the heart of the design
process.
· Be interested in London and the arts/entertainment on offer.
· Communicate ideas clearly and be a champion for UX in an
occasionally pressurised environment.
· Be able to collaborate with a wide variety of internal/external
clients.
I am really looking for someone who is passionate about the cultural and
social scene. Someone; who has real creative and design flair. A designer
who can produce sexy designs is a must! It is all about the visuals...
