The Director of Online Experience will play a leadership role in building a Standards & Governance function across this financial services corporation's retail and workplace web properties. This new function is critical to their strategy to have the best online experience in the financial services industry.
You will be responsible for defining the optimal online experience and managing standards (design, content, interactions) for creating that experience in order to drive customer satisfaction. You will be part of a cross-functional governance team that ensures systematic review and approval based on defined standards and following governance processes.
You will apply knowledge of human capabilities, technology, industry best practices and the company's online strategy to drive the continued innovation of online experience through research, testing, and working with other teams across the enterprise. You will provide the vision, strategy, and business plans to develop, evolve and implement appropriate experience standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive website standards that support a cohesive and consistent customer experience across web properties
- Work with SMEs to identify standards across visual design, content, marketing, brand, navigation, interaction, accessibility, search, etc.
- Document, package and distribute standards so they are easily consumable by cross-functional teams across organization and with external vendors
- Continue to evolve standards to be relevant and forward-looking to business, customer and industry trends through testing and optimization
- Identify opportunities for new or refinements to standards by analyzing recurring standards infractions, internal associate feedback, and customer feedback
- Develop business plans to implement changes based on new standards and ideas for improving the experience
- Ensure alignment between standards and the technology roadmap
- Help facilitate Standards & Governance committee meeting with senior leaders across the organization to review requested changes to standards and ensure systematic introduction of approved changes throughout affected web/mobile properties.
- Act as advocate for standards and governance program to ensure engagement and advise project teams on how to handle possible standards deviations
- Help manage ongoing communications to share program status including new standards, changes to governance process, issues, program metrics, etc. with key stakeholders

Requirements:
- 8+ years of related work experience; 3+ years experience at Director level
-3+ years experience in the Financial Services industry, with heavy focus on investments
- MBA preferred
- Experience with user-centered design and as an extraordinary customer advocate
- Experience establishing and enhancing online standards and implementing best practices through usability testing, industry research, and competitive benchmarking
- Excellent leadership capabilities and understanding of business and competitive environment
- Strong process-orientation
- Ability to execute with cross-company collaboration and partnership
- Strong business acumen with ability for qualitative and quantitative decision-making
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Director, User Experience Design - Mobile
This is a great opportunity to lead important initiatives designing for mobile devices (i.e. smartphones and tablets) for the finance world. You'll need to understand the needs of the investment professional, as well as the needs of their clients, so that you can develop a strategic vision and lead the design of great user experiences into the web-based and mobile applications that will enable them to grow their businesses. You'll need the creativity to scope, architect, wireframe, design and launch these experiences, as well as the presentation skills to convey your vision to your internal clients and the management skills to oversee the large budgets and teams of people (both internal and external) each execution entails.
Responsibilities:

- Provide thought leadership in user experience; contribute ideas, knowledge and insights on emerging trends in user experience design

Prototype Developer
The prototyping developer primarily works with the Visual Designer to create functioning prototypes that meets the business partner's requirements. There may be one to many iterations of a prototype depending on project complexity and how well business requirements are initially defined. Usually a prototype contains a representative sample of all page types that are going to be newly developed or will be changing in some fashion. This role is responsible for producing functioning prototypes that visually meets the business requirements, satisfies design aspects, and has some reuse value for development.
Responsibilities
• Develop a working prototype based on either a requirements document, discussions with the IA and/or Visual Designer, a mockup design image or wire frame design
• Build prototypes to web based technical standards.
• Build prototypes based on style sheets and templates and Style Guide components.
• Provide technical assistance to designers.
Qualifications
5+ years post-college experience in developing internet applications & prototyping
• Portfolio showcasing prototyping skills on a variety of project types: transactional/ecommerce, mobile, website development, etc. Must include sample style sheets, templates and style guides.
• Advanced HTML/dhtml, Javascript, Flex, Silverlight, ASP, Flash skills
• Experience working with Microsoft Access and Sql databases
• Bachelor's Degree
