Taxonomy Analyst
The Taxonomy Analyst will develop and maintain functional taxonomies in accordance with product strategy. This will include employing a range of technologies, analytic skills, optimization techniques, and taxonomy development experience in company-wide taxonomy initiatives.
Responsibilities
· Follow the direction of the Director of Taxonomy to develop, maintain, and optimize DexKnows, Business.com, and Work.com taxonomies in accordance with best practices and business priorities in user experience, navigation, search/retrieval, SEO, SEM, and advertiser requirements.
· Collaborate as appropriate with other members of the Taxonomy team, leveraging specializations within the group as necessary to complete projects.
· Work closely with the other organizational units to understand and address their taxonomy-related concerns.
Skills/Qualifications
· Advanced experience with web search engines and online directories.
· Experience developing classification systems and controlled vocabularies.
· Knowledge of faceted taxonomies, metadata schemas, and thesauri.
· Prefer MLIS degree.
· Prefer experience working with taxonomy/ontology tools such as Protégé.
· Ability to weigh conflicting points of view and take the most appropriate actions.
· Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume work environment.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Team player
· Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
