[Sigia-l] Do you use UI patterns?

I'm conducting a survey on how people use UI patterns. Specifically, I'm
curious about whether people use the patterns in "Designing Interfaces" in
the ways that I thought they'd be used. Are they used as design advice?
Brainstorming tools? A lingua franca? Design instruction? All of the
above?...

If you own or use the book "Designing Interfaces," or its web site (
http://designinginterfaces.com), could you take a few minutes to fill out
this survey? If you're willing to leave your email address, you'll be
entered to win a copy of "Information Dashboard Design: The Effective Visual
Communication of Data" by Stephen Few (O'Reilly, 2006). The information
gathered from this survey will be useful in the next edition of the book,
but I'd also like to share it with the broader community, so that we all
have better information on how UI patterns are being put to work.

Thanks, and apologies for multiple copies of this email.
